Our 6 Step Lawn Care Program is scheduled approximately every 6 to 7 weeks throughout the season. Payment is due at time of service unless prepaid or other arrangements are made with our office. A 2.5 % Interest charge will be applied to all balances due over 30 days pe month. Results are solely dependent on correct water follow up and favorable weather conditions.
Inground Pool Owners. Our fertilizers DO NOT contain phosphorous, as per NYS LAW. Our trained technicians also use trim guards and stay well away from all open pools. For more information, please contact us at (631) 928-3435.
Proper Watering. This is the most important factor in getting the best results for your Lawn. Please follow our Greenturf Water Guide. Automatic systems must be adjusted throughout the season, you cannot set it and forget. Your lawns watering needs change with the weather and failing to adjust systems accordingly may result in fungus problems, drought stressed turf, poor growth and color as well as possible damage.
Weather. Your lawns appearance is greatly affected by weather. Lawns in our region thrive in cooler weather 50-70 degrees When temps approach 80 degrees lawns may stress, At 90 degrees lawns can start to temporarily go dormant and sometimes go brown until cooler weather prevails. Extreme drought, extreme rain fall and extreme temps can adversely affect your lawn beyond anyone's control.
Mowing. Mow frequently. Keep your blade sharp. Remove no more than 1/3 of the plant each mowing.
Seeding For best results all seeding work should be done in the Fall (not in the Spring) Spring seedings are almost never successful and conflict with crabgrass and weed controls. We can provide these services for you or guide you on how to reseed yourself.
Cleanups. Leaves should be cleaned up on a weekly basis in the Fall, failure to do so can cause grass plants to become smothered and thin out dramatically resulting in the need to aerate and seed the following Fall.
Communication. We need to hear from you if you have any questions or concerns. We are on your property approximately every 6 to 7 weeks and address what we see when we are there, however things can change in between services. We will gladly answer your questions or concerns on the phone or provide a service call if needed. A well-informed customer is our best customer.
Greenturf uses only the finest products available.
Pesticides. We pledge to use pesticides responsibly, at the lowest rates and only when necessary as part of our standard 6 step program. Weeds are spot treated only as needed. Grubs are treated only as needed, and fungus problems are controlled through correct cultural recommendations and proper fertilization. We do all this to drastically reduce pesticide use.
Fertilizers. We use only slow release fertilizers with micronutrients for enhanced performance on your lawn and to minimize nitrogen leaching into the soils.
Herbicides. We use 2,4-D free herbicides because of health concerns associated with such products.
Insecticides. We use Talstar brand insecticide (Pyrethroid based) which is based on the natural insecticide in the chrysanthemum plant. This product can be applied at very low rates with high efficiency.
We ask that you use common sense when pesticides have been applied, thoroughly water in and allow to dry before utilizing your property. We are your neighbors, we live and work here and provide these services with our utmost respect for your property and the environment.
